Case Histories
Here are just some of the real situations
negotiated by Thomas & Thomas over the last 18 months.
Midlands
A high quality barn conversion in
the Midlands including extensive equestrian facilities
and approximately 20 hectares of grazing land. The property
has three pylons on it, the nearest of which is 120
metres from the house. The owner of the property received
an offer from the electricity company of £2,000 plus
capitalisation of their wayleave payments. Through use
of their unique evidence, Thomas & Thomas are currently
negotiating this figure to over £100,000 plus the capitalisation
figure.
Essex
A pleasant period house in the commuter
belt of Essex has a paddock with a large pylon on its
boundary, some 150 metres from the house. The owner
bought the house at a discount, because of the pylon,
approximately four years previously. He was totally
unaware that he had a right to make a claim until he
contacted Thomas & Thomas. Their negotiations resulted
in a settlement of £72,000.
West Wales
Paul and Joan own an attractive
small farm in West Wales. The property comprises a farmhouse,
some holiday units, a small caravan site and grazing
land. The property has a pylon approximately 150 metres
away from the house. Thomas & Thomas negotiations gained
the clients a capital sum of £65,000.
